The PGx testing (DNA test) provides insights into your genes’ potential response to a range of medications, such as Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, Anxiolytics, ADHD, and SSRIs. The test reports allow you and your doctor to easily determine any medication adjustments and save yourself from adverse effects.
How to Proceed
Once you order your Pharmacogenomics / PGx Testing Kit, we will send you a box with a swab in a secure envelope, and an activation code along with a prepaid envelope.
Steps to perform:
Once we receive your DNA sample, it will take us approximately 7 – 10 business days to complete the review and analysis. After which you can access your reports from our easy online portal.
Based on our genetics, we tend to respond differently to medications and even eatables we consume in our daily lives. PGx testing indicates how our genetic makeup shall respond to different medications and how rapid, poor, or normal our body metabolizes different drug classes. Not only this, but RPh LABS reports shall also show ‘Cautions’, and ‘Alternatives Recommended’.
This means the body processes medications quickly, potentially reducing their effectiveness.
This indicates a slower processing rate, which can lead to increased side effects.
This reflects a balanced rate, allowing for the best drug effectiveness.
My doctor had to prescribe me an antifungal medicine however since I have been experiencing some negative reactions previously, this time they recommended me a pgx gene test. I have just received my report from RPh LABS and it is so clear that even I can understand it easily – seems like a blessing.
My son has been suffering from ADHD, however, the medication did not seem to be so effective. Our doctor suggested a PGx test in order to prescribe the most suitable drug. I am happy about the positive changes I now notice in my kid.
I have been wondering which SSRI would work best for me – clueless about whether or not the drug I was consuming was good for me. After a DNA test from RPH LABS, I now know which medicines are right for me and which are not. Would recommend.
Since some of the drugs are now specifically labeled as they may react differently to individuals. In cases where I am prescribing any of those specific drugs, I usually suggest my patients first opt for a PGx test as this gives us and our patients the confidence to select the correct medication and doses. And the reason I suggest RPh LABS is because their reports are very clear and even include some precautions.
