According to uhcprovider pharmacogenomics testing will only be considered necessary in certain cases, such as when the patient has been diagnosed with a medication that has a known Gene-drug interaction(s) and the test meets evidence standards for genetic testing or the prescribed medicine is listed in the FDA table of known Gene-drug interactions.
